Hakaniemen kauppahalli

The Market Hall, designed by Karl Hård af Segerstad, was opened in 1914. This traditional-style Finnish food market is located near the Hakaniemi metro. It has approx. 70 shops in two floors selling foodstuff and in the 2nd floor shops souvenirs, textiles, books and handicrafts. This is one of my favourite places in Helsinki because of its authenticity. Fortunately the big old neon sign on the roof is protected by National Board of Antiquities.

Ihantola

Ihantola is a quite big, famous and desired jugend style residence in Helsinki, Finland, built in 1905–1907. It was designed by O. E. Koskinen and situated at Agricolankatu 10, Kallio district. Ihantola sign above the door represents very typical Art Nouveau style.

Ylänkö

This beautiful ”Ylänkö” brick house was built in Art Nouveau style. It´s located at Viides linja 12, opposite of Karhupuisto, Kallio district. This decorative typography on the wall fits very well with the  #jugendstil” building style.

Hakaniemi Market Square

Hakaniemi Market Square is the best place in Helsinki to buy fresh produce, Finnish handcrafts and enjoy a good traditional Finnish coffee. Morning porridge or a ”lihapiirakka”( meat pastry with mustard and ketchup) are also worth of tasting.
